Slumdog Millionaire in Real

I saw a ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ in real life on TV even before I could see it in reel. Rubina, the child actress in 'Slumdog Millionaire' has two mothers—one biological and a step mother. Her father tried to sell her to become a real Slumdog Millionaire. How do we know whether it is true? So the mothers fought a dog fight in the slums over the right of Rubina—bow, wow, scratch, bite. When a man has 2 wives what else they would do? Her biological mother pounced upon everybody to protect her daughter like a female dog to protect its litter. But the kid suffered dog bite. She started crying desperately. If she is a 9 year old she is going through a bad phase now. All of her relatives said to be turned up for the dog feast. Poor illiterate people have no qualms about fighting in public. When it comes to fight there is no difference in between literate and illiterate. Both fight in the same way. Civilization is meant for a few peace loving people. How can we give up the instinct to fight that Nature has given us?

It is all for money. When money matters come in between people even forget relationship. People do anything for money these days. Throw money to slum dwellers and watch them fight. It is like throwing food to stray dogs. They will fight. Rich people may sympathize with the poor but poor have no sympathy towards the rich. The slum kids throw stones and snatch bags from commuters while travelling by local trains is a daily problem. Slum dwellers will teach their kids robbery instead of manners. Anybody’s intention to uplift the poor will not work out. It is better to leave them to their fate. That’s why our country cannot curb poverty. Rich India has more poor people than rich.

If one sympathized with the poor they would take advantage of it. Here, I write down my experience with the poor—once when I was returning from a temple with my husband I saw some beggars sitting in a line at the gate. Feeling sympathy I distributed the remaining fruits I had given for offering. The fruits were nothing to them. They asked for money. We gave the few rupees we had. They were not satisfied with a little money and started demanding more. Soon my husband’s purse got empty and we couldn’t give money to the last one beggar. He got angry and started hurling abuse at us. Others who got money also joined him. We left the place disappointed. I showed sympathy only to get insult.
2009 is not only for recession and war but also for a year for soured relations between father and their offspring. Many cases were reported. The Saturn has taken position in Leo and troubles the earthlings a lot this year.

Happy Earth Day

This beautiful picture of Nature was taken by my daughter and son-in-law during their honeymoon in Sikkim. I like greenery very much. Greenery is Mother Nature's hair. Without greenery the Earth will look like a tonsured head.

Blogal Warming

Blogal warming is just the opposite of global warming, not related to Nature’s rules. That word doesn’t exist. It is derived from my mind’s dictionary. In fact, people use computers for blogging more than any other work. Thus blogal warming could cause global warming due to overuse of computers. Computer is not a necessity at homes. But people buy them like any other gadgets. Otherwise, it would be a gadget only for office use. Most people surf net randomly to kill the time at homes. Some might be using it for a purpose.

There may be billion or more blogs. I say billion because the numbers above that don’t come to come to mind. I am a total falure in Maths. I will not become a Math-magician Shakuntala Devi. There are all kinds of blogs on the net—writers’ blogs, celebrity blogs, personal blogs, mama blogs, papa blogs, philosophy blogs, group blogs and so on but sleeping in deep slumber will not catch anybody’s eyes. Who will read all the blogs? Blog fever is high among people. Mother- father, brother- sister, grandfather-grandmother, grand son-granddaughter all want to blog. Though there is nothing to write everybody wants to become a blogger. Those who own a computer might have at least one blog.

I started blogging because I have the habit of scribbling something. It started when I started getting old. I wonder if it is a mental disease. But I avoid being addicted to it. I am not addicted to anything either. I make sure I use the PC for a limited time. But the PC takes a lot of my time due to net connection problem. No wonder people are addicted to computers. I myself find it difficult to keep away from it.

When I search randomly some blogs open with nude pictures. Before my eyes could pop out from the socket I close them-bura mat dekho (see not evil). Everything that is useful can be misused. There are blogs showing love—I love this, I love that, I love tea; I love coffee and so on. And there are blogs producing hatred—I hate this, I hate that, I hate kanta, I hate lasoon, I hate Himesh Reshamiya, I hate Iswarya Rai, I hate India, I hate the world and even I hate life. Some websites are like mouse traps, traps me in a state that I cannot move backward or forward. Some information giving websites like Wikipedia is very useful. Some other websites are of no use. When I am alone and sitting close to the PC, I often startle by the sudden out bursting sounds of You-Tube.

To introduce computer to kids is not a good idea. It is not only harmful to their eyes but also their health. They will spend a lot of time playing computer games repeatedly. It will make them lazy and will not be interested in anything else. They may damage its system because they cannot achieve thorough knowledge about it. A little knowledge is dangerous. Children don’t need computer till they finish school. But when computer is there they cannot go without laying their hands on it. It will become an addiction.

Politics a Comedy

Politics is a comedy in real. We don’t have to watch any entertainment channel for comedy, especially when election time. Just watch the news channel for politician playing with words and go round the musical chairs. Who will win the chair is unpredictable. Citizens will get confused on whom to vote. It doesn’t make any difference if you vote any party. This attack and counter attack with words is worst than terrorist attack. Guj. CM Narendra Modi is the best comedian in politics. He said, “Congress is like a burdensome old woman. Choose the 30 year old young BJP over the Congress party, a 125 years old buddia.” It is an insult for all old women in the country, where our culture respect old women more. When Priyanka Gandhi lashed out he got a new nickname, Gudia--an insult to Priyanka. He taunted her, “Ab mein Congress ko buddia nahin, guddia kahoonga.” Sneakers scare him like snakes. The lions of Gir might not have scared him so much or Gujrat riot. He will not step out of the house—oh no! Muslims will throw chappals at me because I hate Muslims—no conference please--I have to save my face. He is daydreaming for a Gujrat without Muslims—only a pipe dreams. If Congress is buddi BJP is bachhi. 30 years old and still childish; doesn’t get mature; knows only to throw tantrums and to make chaos. Muh men Ram, bagal men Ravan is the BJP’s mantra.
Advani’s Vani with optimism to change India reverberates in the sky. Heavenly bodies can hear it. If BJP comes into power their first priority will be constructing the Ram Mandir. And terrorists’ next priority will be to destruct it. Advani says he will bring back the black money from foreign banks if BJP wins. For what--to build Ram Mandir. He talks like UPA had triggered terrorism. NDA had given a hint to terrorism and UPA had to bear the brunt. And he forgot the fact that India had fought Kargil war under BJP regime.
I don’t like her (Sonia Gandhi) face, voice, and language, one Neta said. Looks and attraction are also important in politics. But almost all politicians are old and weary.

It is just a saying that times have changed. Time does not do anything. It is going non-stop. Earth rotates and revolves around the Sun as used to be. It is generation that changes and everything changes generation by generation. When Mahabali ruled all were said to be good-willed, prosperous, contended and happy. With Mahabali’s expulsion everything has changed. Do people want a just ruler actually? If anybody is a just ruler they will not let him rule; would want to push him into the earth. Is it Nature’s rules or whimsical ideas of selfish people?

A Handy Weapon

Shoes, Sneakers and chappals are the newly found weapons to attack—not new at all. It is a handy weapon to defend ever since it has been made. But it used to be a weapon for women to shoo away a flirt or pervert. Bus, chappal nikalke ek jhappad. There was a time men feared chappal slap from women. Now who would fear this weapon when there are more powerful weapons than that? With the arrival of guns it has gone back and became useless. The accessory to protect one’s feet is being used to protest others tongue. It is the only thing easily detachable from one’s person. You cannot remove other things from your body in public. All would want to throw something when get angry. We try to control our emotions for the sake of manners and civilization. Monkeys have the habit of throwing something if provoked. They don’t know any manners or they don’t have to. There is no one to teach them manners. It is not in Nature’s rules.

Afew cases of chappal throwing at the judges in the court when the case doesn’t go in the favour of the client had been reported earlier. Journo Jarnail Singh must have got the inspiration from the Iraqi journalist who threw his sneakers at George Bush. Others in India got the inspiration from him. Or is it a dreadful disease of this year? When Jarnail Singh flung his sneaker at Home Minister Chidambaram he scared at first then regained courage and a smile spread on his face when it missed the target and landed on the floor by his side. The situation would have worsened had it been hit on his face. It could have broken his teeth or glasses. Then his smile could have turned into sobs. Another one, Raj Pal, a retired school teacher threw his shoe at Kuruskhetra MP and industrialist. Fortunately all these throwers appeared to be bad shooters. All these cases show a decline in humanity. New government will have to ban foot wear, not gutka, tobacco or cigarettes.

Moon's Waxing and Waning

Enraged motorist waves gun at bus passengers—TOI News headlines.
No wonder the brawl occurred—it was a full Moon day. It could happen to anyone. Emotions will go up with the Moon’s waxing and waning. But it depends on your personality.

According to the astrology Moon is associated with our emotions. Moon has 2 phases—bright and dark. The waxing phase is called bright and waning phase is dark (Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha respectively in Indian languages). Most of the accidents, violence, riots, death and suicides occur close to the days, before or after of the Full Moon (Poornima), or New Moon (Amaavasya). And most of the diseases attack on these days. When I say this nobody take it seriously. They think I am a lunatic or fanatic. If you observe this regularly you can understand. You can control your emotions if you understand yourself. But you cannot avoid anything that happens by circumstances. Need to learn Nature’s rules.

What triggered MP Singh’s rage?—an inset of psychiatrists’ opinion with the report in Mumbai Mirror.
There is no human being without a psyche. So is the psychological problem. In fact, there is nobody in the world without a little psychological problem. Even psychiatrists who cure others psychological problems are not perfect mentally.

Full Moon and road block coincided for MP Singh’s outrage. He may be short-tempered and restless in nature. Nowadays everyone seems to be impatient and restless. Our milkman cannot wait a second at the door. If I didn’t open the door at once he will start grumbling. He hopes me to sit behind the door always. It is a matter of time. Everyone has to work with the cloak. It is not surprising you get stressed if you have to do more work in less time. Stress is a slow killer but outrage that comes out of stress could be an instant killer . Besides, people nowadays sleep late because of TV, computer and work. If you sleep less you may be more stressed. Sleep will revive tired nerves. At least 4-5 hours sleep is needed.

Game of Statements

It is election time. Lynching, punching, scorching the vehicles, kidnapping and vandalizing public property will go on till an outcome of election comes out. The things that had constructed in years will go in a few minutes. People wait holding their ears up to catch a slip of the tongue from public persons and to create riots. It is a whimsical idea to pull down a Neta. When one climbs the ladder others will pull him down and try to climb, but pull the ladder down upon themselves. At this rate, nobody is going to reach the top of the ladder.

Yeh bola, woh bola, Lalu bola, sab bola kuch….kyaa bola? Those who say don’t know what they say. When good intention from mind comes to the mouth becomes foul. Mouth is always foul. Varun Gandhi said, “If anybody raises his hand against Hindus, I will cut it off.” Another Neta voiced a similar but just the opposite of Varun Gandhi’s statement, “If anybody raises his hand against Muslims, I will chop it off.” Lalu Prasad Yadav said, “Had I been the home minister, I would have crushed Varun Gandhi under a roller and destroyed him without caring for the consequences for his hate speech against Muslims.” Lalu found a new weapon to eliminate a man. Even terrorists haven’t got the faintest idea of it. Varun Gandhi’s statement must be against terrorists. I interpret that way. L K Advani thinks NDA can change the world, UPA is a failure. What they say to please their party people go wrong. They need special coaching for speech. Is there a book to teach how to become an expert orator? Otherwise they should write down what they want to speak and learn by heart before getting on to the dais.

All Netas do bayanbaji against each other. Too many parties and politicians spoil the country. What kind of democracy is this? How can we expect development from these leaders who want to make only chaos?

Young India asks questions such as why are there no reservations for youth in parliament. I have the answer for them—a young man thinks about his youth in his youthful days, not the country’s affairs. If married, he will be attached to his wife and children. A lot of his energy will go that way. Attachment to the family and its duty decrease gradually when get old. Then he can concentrate on other things or country’s affairs. But by the time he takes over the duty of the country, fatigue and some ailment may take over him.

Animals are lucky. They don’t have to go through all these troubles. They don’t need any democracy. Mother Nature is their ruler.

All Fools' Day

Conficker worm plays no tricks on April Fools’ Day, but is a ticking time-bomb—News headlines from Mumbai Mirror.
San Francisco: The Conficker worm’s April 1st trigger date came and went without the virus causing any mischief, but security specialists warn that the threat is far from over—I copied this paragraph from the report.

I was fooled by the hype. I didn’t touch the PC because of the earlier warning. The warning itself is enough to make one fool. The PC itself plays tricks on me always. All days are Fool’s Day for it. It tests my patience; make me mad; make me cry at times. When I start up the computer the net will be OK. But when I start browsing the net will go down. The net always interrupts between blogging. Kicking the b*** or bucket or anything else will not help. I have to go with frustration. I am not a computer wizard. But I have the basic knowledge. The system is 100% fit and fine. Still I don’t get connected. It seems the PC is my enemy. I tried all remedies to no avail such as reboot. I have given it protection with the best available security system. McAfee is a trustworthy security guard. It works without breaks. PC doctors have failed to diagnose its ailment. Doctors would say if they cannot diagnose a patient’s problem, “it is psychological, nothing else.” Likewise, the PC doctors say- the net will go down; ADSL will blink sometimes; all that are normal. I am fed of these silly arguments. These electronic machines are not reliable.

All creatures that Nature has created have mood changes with the Moon’s waxing and waning. My computer also has this problem when the Moon’s phases advance because it has got a brain. Electricity and electronic machines don’t seem favour me. Whenever I touch the switch board and electronic appliances I feel a vibration through my hands. Just a medical test (angiography) made me immobile. Somehow I recovered gradually though not completely. Machines attract me since childhood. If I got anything to assemble or dismantle I would be happy then. I was not a kid who would fool about carrying a doll in her arm. Those lifeless dolls were nothing to me. Instead I would play with anybody’s babies.

Women's Liberation!

This article is a remainder of International Women’s Day. I don’t believe in women’s lib. In this male-dominated world women are still slave of men. When women are enemies to women how will women’s lib work out? Women are not going to liberate. Most men impose a Taliban rule on their women. If a marriage flops wife has to take blame. Other female family members would find fault with wife’s nature. They would criticize her for inability to adjust with her man and they may even torture and throw her out of the house. They think woman should adjust and tolerate her man’s behavior even if he is a beast. Men don’t have to change their ways. Husband will get a pat on his back from family members if he tortures his wife. Men enjoy freedom too much in the name of culture and tradition. Our culture and tradition teach women to be patient and tolerant like Sita Devi. When a woman is in trouble other women will not come forward to help her. Instead they would throw more accusations on her. This is our society.

Women have the habit of comparing with other women and feel jealous. Out of jealousy they would create chaos in the family and make the home a hell. Sometimes it will be men creating trouble. But mostly women are home-breakers. Women are responsible for the extinction of joint families. If family members are good willed a joint family is a better solution for women’s sufferings. Women cannot expect a better life until they understand and change the attitudes towards other women. If women can get along with other women in the family and ready to help each other, men may change accordingly. It seems women are born to cry and to be vulnerable and men are to laugh and to be valiant. But it is not Nature’s rules, rules made by selfish men or society. I wonder if there is a woman who has never wept in her life.
